Silk is one of the oldest fibers known to humanity. Silk has played an important part in the social and religious life of Ethiopia throughout its history.
Our scarves and shawls are woven from wild organic silks such as eri and mulberry. It can be spun into fine or coarse textured threads that behave much like cotton. It is versatile and provides the luxury of silk, the comfort of cotton and the warmth of wool. The qualities of eri and other silks emerge when dyed with the rich palette of natural dyes made from flowers, roots, berries and bark. We offer our scarves and shawls in light and heavy weight and in several beautiful colors that vary seasonally.
